Guide Services
Everything new players need to get rolling.
Read the Rules Upon joining Riftline, you are automatically responsible for knowing our rules. You can read them here. Please become familiar with them prior to starting any interactions on the server.
Game Interactions & Controls If you're new to FiveM, you may want to read our guides on game interactions and controls to become familiar with how to play and interact with the game features.
Making Money There are a vast amount of ways to make money in Riftline, we recommend starting out with a legal contract-based job, such as trucking, construction, or garbage collection. However, if you're a grinder, you may want to look into mining or recycling, which will introduce you to the server's economy at large, and unlock additional RP opportunities, especially with our logistics companies and mechanic shops. You can also apply to work at any player owned business, you can find information on how to apply there, in the Riftline Business Hub.
Transportation Vehicles are available to purchase for cheap at Premium Deluxe Motorsports in downtown Los Santos. You can also find rental cars at the Federal Complex (please do not forget to return them when you are done with them, they will continue to charge you late fees if you do not return the vehicle).
Joining Emergency Services If you would like to become a member of law enforcement, you may choose a department of your choice to apply to. On Riftline, we do not follow strict jurisdictional rules, so you are not tied to a specific zone for roleplay, no matter which department you select. You will find department information and links to their respective Discord servers and applications on the City Services page.
Diving into the Criminal Element If you're more interested in criminal activites, you're going to want to embed yourself in the criminal community on Riftline. Information on how to get started with criminal activites will come from the people of Riftline, or from your own investigation and research into the criminal underworld.

Riftline RP — Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Riftline.
What’s the “best” job on the server?
There isn’t one. Jobs are tuned to offer different playstyles and perks rather than a single “meta.” To keep the economy healthy, payouts are dynamically adjusted after each server restart. For the richest RP and growth potential, consider applying at a player‑owned business.
Why can’t I connect? It says I’m missing a “steam”/“discord” identifier.
- Make sure both Steam and Discord are open and you’re signed in before launching the game.
- Close FiveM/RedM, Steam, and Discord completely (use Task Manager).
- Re‑open Steam and Discord first, then start the game.
- If needed, restart your PC and try again.
If you still can’t connect, open a ticket in our Discord so we can help.
How do I check server status?
Visit the Riftline Discord and check #server-status. It updates automatically to show whether the server is online or offline.
How do I report a bug?
Use #bug-reports in the Discord. Before posting, search to see if it’s already been reported. If it has, add your details there. If not, include:
- What happened and what you expected.
- Steps to reproduce (as exact as possible).
- Any screenshots/clips and relevant F8/client logs.
How do I delete a character?
Open a Support Ticket in Discord and provide the character’s CitizenID (shown on the character selection screen). Characters are eligible for deletion only if their cash and bank balances are at or above starting amounts. Final decisions may involve staff review to prevent accidental or abusive deletions.
Riftline RP — Game Interactions
Learn how to interact with the game world on Riftline and what common UI elements look like.
Radial Menu (F1)
Hold F1 to open the Radial Menu. This menu provides fast access to frequently used actions—such as cuffing, escorting, placing someone into a vehicle, or removing them from a vehicle—as well as other context‑specific options based on your job/role and what you’re looking at.
Vehicle interactions via Radial:
- Stand close to the vehicle (driver door, passenger door, trunk, or engine area).
- Hold F1 to open the menu and select the relevant action.
- Tip: Some options appear only when you’re within the correct range, have line‑of‑sight, or have the required permissions (e.g., police tools).
Targeting / “Third Eye” (Left ALT)
- Hold Left ALT to activate the Targeting system (“third eye”). Nearby interactive spots will appear as white circles or prompts on world objects, NPCs, and vehicles.
- Hover the prompt to see available actions.
- Right‑click to enable your cursor, then left‑click an action to use it.
- Release Left ALT to exit targeting.
Quick Troubleshooting
- No prompts? Move closer, face the object directly, and ensure there’s nothing blocking line‑of‑sight.
- Wrong keybinds? Check your FiveM/RedM keybind settings—servers or personal profiles may remap F1/Left ALT.
- UI not responding? You might have NUI focus elsewhere—press Esc once, then try again.
- Missing options? Some actions require specific jobs, items, or job grades.
Riftline RP — Firearms License (LSPD/BCSO)
Follow these steps to apply for a firearms license on Riftline:
- Join one agency’s Discord: Join either the LSPD or BCSO division Discord. Choose one agency for your application.
- Open a Firearms License ticket (one only): In the agency Discord you chose, open a Firearms License ticket. Do not open a ticket in both servers.
Riftline RP — Businesses & Organizations
We support player-run ventures that create consistent, high-quality RP. This page explains what’s approved, the baseline expectations, and how to apply.
What Gets Approved
- Originality & value: Concepts that add real RP hooks, not copy-paste shops.
- Feasibility: A realistic plan for staffing, hours, and operations.
- Professionalism: Owners who can represent the server well.
Minimum Requirements
- Activity: Consistent play for at least 14 days prior to applying.
- Conduct: No active warnings/suspensions; a pattern of respectful RP.
- Cadence: Operate or host activity at least 3 times per week (open hours, events, services, etc.).
- Comms: Maintain a simple Discord roster/roles for staff and a point of contact.
Ongoing Expectations
- Reliability: Post open hours when possible; communicate if you’ll be away.
- Quality over grind: Price fairly, avoid low-effort farming, and prioritize RP.
- Rule compliance: All owners and staff follow server rules and RP quality standards.
Activity Reviews & Enforcement
- Check-ins: If activity dips, staff may ping for a status update.
- Grace window: If there’s no recovery within 7 days of a check-in, ownership may be suspended or transferred.
- Fairness: Decisions weigh effort, communication, and community impact.
How to Apply
Submit a brief proposal covering:
- Business name, concept, and proposed location
- Staffing plan and intended hours of operation
- Menu/services, pricing approach, and planned RP hooks (events, storylines)
- Any unique systems/requests (if applicable)
Post your application in the Discord (e.g., #business-applications) or your designated link. Staff may request an interview or a trial opening.
Gangs & Motorcycle Clubs
Approved factions may receive a hideout and progression-based access (e.g., a lab or crafting) balanced by server rules. The focus is story-driven, high-quality RP, not “win at all costs.”
Eligibility
- Active member: Consistent play for at least 14 days prior to applying.
- Conduct: Clean record and the ability to manage conflict without OOC issues.
Leadership Expectations
- Presence: Organize members and scheduled activities.
- Standards: No rule-bending, OOC harassment, or “gunplay over RP.”
- Clarity: Keep a basic Discord structure (roles, roster, simple code of conduct).
Reviews & Adjustments
- Staff periodically review activity and behavior.
- Access (e.g., labs/crafting) can be adjusted, suspended, or revoked for rule breaches or ongoing issues.
- Chronic inactivity can lead to leadership reassignment or dissolution.
How to Apply
- Organization theme/name and leadership roster (with identifiers)
- Vision and planned RP arcs
- Revenue streams and how you’ll avoid low-effort conflict
- A basic weekly schedule (aim for 3+ organized activities)
Open a ticket in the Discord (e.g., #gang-applications) and attach your proposal.
